From Wicked Weed:
Asheville, NC, February 2nd, 2016 --- Wicked Weed Brewing is poised to open distribution focused on the greater Boston area of Massachusetts this week. The brewery will debut several one-off brews at Beer Advocate’s Extreme Beer Fest as well as showcase a wider variety of its portfolio at several tap takeovers and events around Boston.
“After looking at markets across the Eastern seaboard we felt that Massachusetts was a great fit for our brand. Craft beer has a strong hold in Boston and we want to be a part of it,” says Ryan Guthy, Owner and Head of Sales. “I have family in Massachusetts and through my time spent in the market I felt that it was the next step for us. I am looking forward to sharing our sour and funky portfolio to a market that is close to my heart.”
Consumers can expect to see predominately sour and brettanomyces farmhouse ales in bottles and limited draught. While the Northeast may occasionally see some of Wicked Weed’s hoppy offerings from their production facility, approximately ninety percent of the beer entering the market will hail from the Funkatorium, the brewery’s sour program.
Wicked Weed has signed with Atlantic Importing & Distributing, a reputable craft beer distributor established in 1995 and dedicated to servicing state-wide stores from Western Massachusetts to Cape Cod and the Islands.
“We decided to go with Atlantic Importing for many reasons,” explains Guthy. “They share our passion for craft beer and are devoted to quality. Wicked Weed Brewing wanted to partner with craft focused wholesaler that always strives to be the best.”
In addition to their rare lineup at both sessions of Extreme Beer Fest, Wicked Weed is premiering more of their offerings at the following events:
- Wednesday, February 3th –Tap Takeover at Publick House at 5pm.
- Thursday, February 4th – Official Extreme Beer Fest Pre-Party at Meadhall at 5pm.
- Thursday, February 4th – Wicked Weed & The Lost Abbey Tap Takeover at Lord Hobo at 8pm.
- Friday, February 5th – Wicked Weed on tap at Tip Tap Room at 9pm.
