Review: Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights the 2025 Mind Haze Hazy Pack

Today we’re getting our first test-drive of a new variety pack coming from Firestone Walker in Paso Robles, CA. I’m talking about the new 2025 Hazy Pack and it will be a 12-pack with four cans of each of the three beers on-board.

The pack includes Mind Haze Brain Melter, Mind Haze Cosmic Crusher and the original (and now updated) Mind Haze IPA. I reviewed these beers back in Jan of 2024, and I’m excited to say that Mind Haze IPA has changed. Before you get too worked up, it looks to be only an ABV change taking the beer from 6.2%-AbV to 6.7%-AbV. This change didn’t affect the flavor and I was actually able to compare a can I had of the old against the new and I find them nearly identical.

This variety pack has become one of my favorites and a go-to pack for summer parties and sitting on the beach. I will suggest you be a bit careful since 6.7%-AbV is the lowest in the pack with the other beers hitting 8.5% and 9.5%-AbV.

Of course I can’t wait to try all three again, so off we go…

Firestone Walker Mind Haze IPA

Brewery Description:

Plunge into a tempest of electrifying tropical flavor with a luxuriously velvety mouthfeel that will send you into a state of hazy euphoria.

ABV:  6.7%
Style:  Hazy IPA
Packaging:  12oz cans
Appearance:  Hazy golden
Aroma:   Orange, lemon & mild malt
Mouthfeel:   Medium
Taste:   Fruit-forward with mango, citrus, tropical fruit and passion fruit
Overall:  Mind Haze IPA is one of my absolute favorite hazies. The beer uses seven hop varieties between kettle and dry-hopping and the combination of hop flavors really works well. The beer is definitely fruit-forward and hazy with a great mix of tropical fruit, citrus and just a touch of dank hops at the end. Overall I think this beer demonstrates just how good a well balanced hazy beer can be and it remains one of my favorites from Firestone Walker.

Aroma:   Tropical fruit, grapefruit, hops and citrus
Mouthfeel:   Medium & satisfying
Taste:  Bright citrus, tropical fruits and fruit juice
Overall:  Firestone Walker Mind Haze Brain Melter is loaded with fruit-forward flavors that are backed by a hearty and satisfying 8.5%-ABV. The mix of flavors is classically tropical and the blend of hops carries a unique combination of flavors that I know you’ll love as much as I do. Overall this is a really drinkable, satisfying and boozy imperial IPA that has some of my favorite hazy IPA fruit flavors.

Firestone Walker Mind Haze Cosmic Crusher

Brewery Description:

Explosions of succulent pineapple and mango are where juicy bliss meets cosmic intensity.

ABV:  9.5%
IBU: 26
Hops: Galaxy & Strata
Style:  Juicy Imperial IPA
Packaging:  12oz cans
Appearance:  Deep gold
Aroma:   Citrus & big pineapple
Mouthfeel:   Medium
Taste:   Pineapple, pineapple, pineapple and mango
Overall:  Firestone Walker Mind Haze Cosmic Crusher is taking “fruit-forward” to a new level with this beer. The combination of “ultra-tropical” hops and the yeast chosen by our pal Matt Brynildson make for a beer that both retains a family resemblance to the other Mind Haze variants, but also blazes a new and juicy imperial IPA path.

The 2025 Firestone Walker Into Hazy Pack is available now with all three beers being packaged in 12oz cans….so get out there and try these beer for yourself. And when you do try them, be sure to let us know what YOU think
