We brought you news (here and here) and details of this beer, and now the release details from Weyerbacher:
Released in time for Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October), Althea what brewed to help defray costs for ancillary Lehigh Valley area breast cancer patients in need. One dollar per bottle will be donated to The Breast Cancer Patient Assistance Fund of Lehigh Valley Health Network.
Althea is a Belgian-style Dubbel brewed with plums, bottle conditioned in a 750 ml / 25.4 oz. Which cork and bottle cage weighs in at a substantial 7.7% ABV. It's a beautiful, dark and fruity ale brewed by our Conceived and New Jersey Sales Representative and former Philly Beer Geek, Natalie DeChico. Althea is available to all of our distribution areas in limited quantities though we expect the Majority to be sold close to the Lehigh Valley. Althea began shipping to wholesalers in late September and will debut at the Visitors Center on September 27th at 4:30 pm. Supplies are limited so be ultra sure to get yours soon!
Weyerbacher is making Althea T-shirts which will be added to the webstore and will be available at the Visitors Center. We are selling them for $ 20 each and donating $ 10 per shirt to the The Breast Cancer Patient Assistance Fund of Lehigh Valley Health Network.Show your support by buying a bottle and WEAR your support by getting a shirt! They will be available in unisex and women's cuts.
