The Brewery at Hershey Prepares To Open w/IPA, Brown Ale, Hefeweizen & American Special Bitter

Looks like the Brewery at Hershey is getting ready to brew some beer as keg label approvals came in today for IPA, Brown Ale, Hefeweizen & American Special Bitter.  Further details here from Central Penn Business:

Right now, there are a lot of moving pieces — literally — on the Schoolhouse Road farm that houses all company operations.

During the past two weeks, brewing equipment has been moved into the production area. DeLutis has been busy shining up the pieces and starting to connect it all in hopes of brewing his first batch later this month.

The plan is to brew at least once a week, maybe twice, he said.

His initial beer lineup will include four flagship styles — an American special bitter called Pond Jumper, as well as a hefeweizen, which is a German-style wheat beer; a chocolate brown ale; an India pale ale, or IPA; and a seasonal watermelon wheat. The plan is to have one or two seasonal varieties on tap at any given time, DeLutis said.

The company is hoping to have small batches available to sell on-site, by the pint, at its Friday night concert events throughout July, Reimer said. A July 27 preview dinner event with live music is being planned, and the grand opening of the brewery is scheduled for the second and third weekends in August.

The first grand opening weekend — Aug. 10-11 — will include live music. A charity flag football event is lined up for Aug. 18.
