From Karl Strauss:
SAN DIEGO, CA – Karl Strauss Brewing Company has partnered with Restaurants Care, a nonprofit fund through the California Restaurant Foundation that provides stability and financial assistance to California’s food-and-beverage workforce in times of hardship. Through this partnership, Karl Strauss will be donating proceeds from its Ridiculously Limited Release Series in 2025 to support the organization’s mission to invest in the workforce, the heart of the food-and-beverage community. zzubreebym
The Ridiculously Limited Release series features four specialty beers throughout 2025 – two collaboration beers and two seasonal specialties. For each of these releases, Karl Strauss will donate one percent of all California sales to Restaurants Care. The first beer is Nectaron of the Gods IPA, a collaboration with Pizza Port Brewing Company, which is available now on draft and in four packs of 16-oz cans at Karl Strauss’ nine Southern California brewpubs, Pizza Port’s eight Southern California locations, and other bars and restaurants throughout the State.
Nectaron of the Gods IPA is 6.8 percent alcohol-by-volume (ABV), and it features a bold hop profile with tropical flavors of passion fruit, grapefruit, and pineapple. The next beer in the series is a collaboration with Green Cheek Beer Company, Squawk Box IPA, which will be released on June 26. Later in the year, Karl Strauss’ seasonal Peanut Butter Cup Porter and Golden Stout round out the series.
“Caring for each other, our community, and our environment has always been at the heart of Karl Strauss,” said Vice President of Brewpubs Fred Glick. “Partnering with Restaurants Care allows us to live those values in a meaningful way—by directly supporting the people who make our industry thrive.”
Karl Strauss employs hundreds of food-and-beverage workers across its nine brewpub locations. Supporting an organization like Restaurants Care reinforces the company’s values of caring for its community, forming authentic relationships based on trust, and showing compassion for the industry that has shaped its legacy since opening as San Diego’s first post-Prohibition brewing company in 1989.
"Our Karl Strauss Distribution network reaches hundreds of restaurants across the broader San Diego region, and we are thankful for the dedication of food and beverage workers every day," said Chief Operating Officer Chad Heath. "This partnership is a way to give back to the industry professionals who are essential in getting great beer to guests."
Through this philanthropic initiative, Karl Strauss hopes to rally industry peers, partners, and guests alike to champion the wellbeing of food and beverage workers across California.
