From Deschutes & Patagonia Provisions:
With Earth Month around the corner, Patagonia Provisions x Deschutes Brewery is making it easier to enjoy delicious beer that’s better for the planet. Their Non-Alcoholic Organic Golden and Organic Kernza Lager are brewed with ingredients that actively support soil health, biodiversity, and cleaner waterways, without compromising on taste.
Patagonia Provisions and Deschutes share a mission: to shift the brewing industry toward more responsible practices by expanding the use of Regenerative Organic Certified® (ROC™) and organic ingredients. These choices don’t just improve farmer livelihoods—they restore soil health and set a new standard for sustainability in beer.
Both brews feature:
- Certified organic Kernza® (a soil-saving, carbon-capturing perennial grain)
- Certified organic Helios and Adeena hops
- Certified organic malted 2-row barley
- ROC™ rye
The result is a bright, crisp, and wildly drinkable lineup that highlights the potential of organic and regenerative grains in beer.
Why These Beers Matter for Earth Month:
Consumers are choosing beers that align with their values, and Patagonia Provisions’ releases are proving the demand:
- Non-Alc Organic Golden has become a top 25 non-alcoholic craft six-pack in the US in just seven months.
- Organic Kernza Lager holds the 2nd highest category-weighted distribution among craft lager six-packs in the US since its launch in September 2024. (Source: Circana L13W thru 3-2-25 Total US Food $$ Rev.)
To further its impact, Deschutes is donating a portion of beer sales in March and April to The Land Institute, supporting their mission of truly scaling regenerative agriculture. Kernza’s impact is even hitting the big screen. The grain is at the center of the short film Beer Saves the World, which is currently touring the film festival circuit. Watch the trailer here.
