Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Portland Cider Huckleberry Lemonade (Review)

I find myself drinking more and more cider lately, and while I still love beer, I can’t help but get excited when I get a chance to try a new cider…and no cidery gets me more excited than Portland Cider.

Today I’m getting an early taste of a new seasonal cider coming called Huckleberry Lemonade, and if you’re not familiar with this berry, think blueberry, but blueberry with an attitude. I really like blueberries, but the bolder and more intense flavor of the huckleberry was a new fruit flavor that I landed on many years ago when visiting Washington and Oregon…so I can’t wait to try this one.

Huckleberry Lemonade uses “sun-ripened” huckleberries with the “fresh zesty essence of squeezed lemons” and I can tell you that from the first sip to the last, the balance of sweet berries and tart lemon make for a classic and enjoyable cider. This cider leads with juicy sweet berries and that sweetness is balanced nicely with the tart and sharp lemon finish. This combination makes the cider really drinkable and really well balanced. I found this seasonal cider to be one of my favorites and one that I can drink without experiencing the sticky sweet flavors of some other ciders.

Huckleberry Lemonade hits a surprisingly higher 6.1%-AbV and it will be packaged in 12oz and 19.2oz cans as well as kegs. Look for a Jan 2025 – April 2025 release target and I suspect this one will be really popular, so don’t delay if you’re looking to taste it….and when you do taste it (and love it as much as I do) be sure to let us know what YOU thinkzzubreebym
