Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Hopworks Ferocious Citrus IPA, Totally Radler, Blackberry Haze IPA & Rindless Watermelon Gose (Review)

Once upon a time (maybe 2008-ish) I was wandering through a beer store in Spokane, WA on Easter weekend and I came across a beer and brewery that was not only unavailable in Pennsylvania, but also a brewery I had never even heard of at the time. The beer was called Organic IPA and the brewery was called Hopworks. As someone who loves hoppy beers, I was surprised to find a brewery with “Hop” in the name, so of course I had to try it.

Jump forward a decade or two, and Hopworks Brewery has now become one of my favorites. Today I’m excited to get a chance to sample some summer fruited beers form Hopworks, and I’m even more excited to highlight some beers that I know you will love. Of course I can’t wait to try them all, so off we go…

Hopworks Adding Blackberry Haze IPA

Hopworks Brewery Blackberry Haze

Brewery Description:  Blackberry Hazy IPA is back with fresh art. Brewed in collaboration with Bella Organic Farms, this super-limited hazy IPA is packed with Organic Sauvie Island blackberries and reinforced with Strata, Azacca, and Hopsteiner Experimental #09326 hops! This hop selection aims to provide complexity and highlight the jamminess of the blackberries. The result is a medium-bodied IPA with a soft bitterness, bursting with berry flavor.

Style:  Hazy IPA
Packaging:  16oz cans
Appearance:  Deep amber
Aroma:  Fresh berries and citrusy hops

Overall:  This IPA has a really nice mix of citrusy hops and fresh blackberries. Overall the beer has a slightly lower bitterness with a really flavorful mix of fresh fruit.

Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Hopworks Brewery, Great Gourds Of Fire, Fresh Hop Abominable & Barrel-Aged Rindless Watermelon Gose

Hopworks Brewery Rindless Watermelon

Brewery Description:  Watermelon Gose aged in fresh Tequila barrels for 6 months resulting in oak and fruity caramel flavors with notes of Tequila

ABV:  6.7%
IBU:  5
Style:  Gose
Packaging:  12oz cans
Appearance:  Bright reddish copper
Aroma:  Lime & mild oak
Mouthfeel:   Light
Taste:   Bright lime, subtle oak, salt and watermelon
Overall:  This beer has a lot going on. The lime is definitely dominant, as is the salt, but the earthy oak from Tequila barrel-aging and the sweet watermelon make for an intriguing mix. I love watermelon and while I’m not a Tequila drinker, I can appreciate how much that barrel aging adds to the overall balance of the beer. This is a really unique gose.

Hopworks Brewery Ferocious Citrus IPA, Totally Radler, Blackberry Haze IPA & Rindless Watermelon Gose are all really enjoyable beers and available now in 16oz cans and 12oz cans (Ferocious Citrus), so get out there and try them for yourself…and when you do try them, be sure to let us know what YOU thinkzzubreebym
