If you’ve been following along with my beer highlights, you’ll know already that I really liked the Schöfferhofer fruit beers when I reviewed them…so it should be no surprise that I was excited to get a chance to try their latest fruit-forward Hefeweizen Bier.
The beer is called Schöfferhofer Watermelon Mint Hefeweizen Bier and we should note up front that this is the first ever double flavored beer in this series of fruit beers. The beer starts with Schöfferhofer’s award-winning German Hefe, and to that they add “Mouthwatering” watermelon and “tingly” mint. This 50% Hefe 50% fruit combination of ingredients will now be packaged in new 16.9oz cans so naturally I can’t wait to crack one open….so off we go.
Schöfferhofer Watermelon Mint Hefeweizen Bier
ABV: 2.5%
Style: Fruit Flavored German Hefeweizen
Packaging: 16.9oz cans
Appearance: Hazy bright pink
Aroma: Watermelon & mild mint
Mouthfeel: Light
Taste: Juicy/tart watermelon, cooling mint and mild spices
Overall: Schöfferhofer Watermelon Mint Hefeweizen Bier has a strong family resemblance to their other fruit Hefe’s and I think the combination of flavors and the new larger 16.9oz can really works well with this beer. Overall the beer has a strong presence of watermelon with my preferred mild presence of mint and it finishes with a really appealing mix of tart and sweet flavors.
Schöfferhofer Watermelon Mint Hefeweizen Bier is available now in 16.9oz cans with 19.2oz cans coming to convenience stores soon…so get out there and try it for yourself…and when you do try it, be sure to let us know what YOU think. zzubreebym
