Sprecher Brewery: Whole Cone Series Releases, Milwaukee Pils, Irish Stout

Sprecher Brewery: Whole Cone Series Releases, Milwaukee Pils, Irish Stout
From Sprecher:

Glendale, WI – Soon to be released from Sprecher Brewery’s Whole Cone Series: 12oz cans and
draft of 2019 Pineapple X-Press, aka PXP, a big Belgian Tripel IPA. This is the first year PXP
will be available in cans. Previously it had only been available in very limited edition draft.
When asked to comment on this year’s batch of PXP, Sprecher brewmaster Craig Burge replied,
“I use a special combination of Mosaic, Equanot and Zythos hops to get the big
tropical/pineapple profile that is a departure from the many hopped up bitter Belgian IPAs. These
are currently fast becoming some of my favorite hops to brew with. This beer is perfect for the
beer lover of a higher ABV – 8.4% alcohol by volume – that is hidden away with a superb
Belgian profile in addition to the big fruit notes of tropical islands.”

Recently released in cans and draft and sure to appeal to hop lovers, 2019 Citra Bomb. This
Imperial IPA in Sprecher’s Whole Cone Series features whole cone Citra and Simcoe hops. This
style is most often characterized by a gold or copper color, citrus hop character, big malt body

and lingering bitterness. When asked about the intent and process for this beer, Sprecher
brewmaster Craig Burge replied, “We chose to go big with this beer. Dry hopping with whole
cones adds flavor and aroma. The Simcoe and Citra hops imbued it with flavors that don’t make
you think of winter: grapefruit, green, fresh resin and nectarine on nose, flavors that are brightly
suffused throughout.” Citra Bomb registers 6.5% abv (alcohol by volume).

A new year round beer, Milwaukee Pils, is now available in 12oz cans and draft. Made with
Saaz hops, this 5% abv (alcohol by volume) beer is a perfect go to session beer. According to
Sprecher brewmaster Craig Burge, “It will appeal to people who enjoy American style lagers and
those who want to expand their choices in beer. It will also please the palates of people who
enjoy a very traditional Czech-style Pilsner.”

The can art tells the story of Sprecher and its relationship to Milwaukee. The smokestack on the
can depicts the original 1985 hand painted sign – faded but still visible – on the Walker’s Point
smokestack that you can see from the north and southbound lanes of I-43. To the east of the
smokestack several of downtown Milwaukee’s iconic structures are depicted, including the art
deco We Energies building with the flame on top and the Calatrava designed Milwaukee Art
Museum.

The annual spring favorite, Sprecher Irish Stout, is now available in 12oz bottles and draft.
Winner of numerous awards, this classic Irish-style dry stout will please the even the finickiest
stout lover. This smooth and creamy tribute to Ireland is brewed with dark roasted malts and
choice hops. Expect distinctive flavors and aromas of bittersweet chocolate and dark coffee in
every sip. At 4.5% abv (alcohol by volume), this makes a great beer for St. Patrick’s Day or any
day.
