MINNEAPOLIS, MN JULY 25, 2017: Indeed  Brewing Company yesterday announced two wins at the 2017 National Honey Board's Honey Beer Competition. Mexican Honey Imperial Lager won gold in the Best Honey Lager category and LSD Honey Ale won silver in the Honey Fruit & Spiced Beer category.

The Honey Beer Competition is sanctioned by the Beer Judge Certification Program and hosted by the National Honey Board to recognize the best beers in the United States that use honey. The judging was held in St. Louis, Missouri and consisted of a blind tasting with winners chosen by majority vote. Over 100 beers made with honey were entered in the competition. Indeed Brewing was the only Minnesota brewery represented among the winning beers.

Indeed's Head Brewer Josh Bischoff is well known for his use of honey. In addition to Mexican Honey and LSD, Indeed's Shenanigans Summer Ale and Old Friend Winter Warmer both feature the ingredient. Mexican Honey is brewed with 450 pounds of honey per 30-barrel batch and made with Mexican Orange Blossom Honey. LSD is brewed with sunflower honey from Ukraine. Both Mexican Honey and LSD have previously medaled at the Great American Beer Festival.
