TAMPA, FL (March 29, 2016) The Brew Bus located at 4101 North Florida Avenue in Seminole Heights has announced the grand opening of its newly renovated terminal, brewery, and tasting room. The celebration, coined “Move That Bus” will start at 1:30pm on Saturday, April 16, 2016, and go into the evening.
Guests will be treated to first-time beer offerings throughout the day, live music by local musicians, and an opportunity to win raffle prizes to benefit Children’s Dream Fund. Food will be provided by Tampa Bay Food Truck Rally, and Uber is offering a $10 credit to the first 100 people for transportation to and from the event with code: MOVETHATBUS.
“We’re thrilled to be opening our new terminal and tasting room to the public”, said Anthony Derby, The Brew Bus Terminal & Brewery Founder. “Our goal is to create an experience unlike any other in the Tampa Bay area, to be a destination, and to continue expanding our luxury bus tours.”
Mayor Buckhorn will welcome Brew Bus to Tampa Bay with a formal ribbon cutting at 1:30pm. Immediately following, musician Danny Brantley will kick off the live entertainment, and partygoers can enjoy Brew Bus exclusive brews and guest brews from all over Florida. Brew Bus will be donating 10% of bottle and draft sales of the specialty tapping of Barley Berry Jam to Florida Women in Brewing.
The terminal, located at 4101 North Florida Avenue, is 15,000 sq ft and houses a 20-barrel system, a tasting room, a retail shop, the Brew Bus corporate offices, and will soon feature a private banquet space with catering, game room, outdoor patio, and kitchen. The terminal will be open 7 days a week, with bus tours leaving primarily on Friday,Saturday, and Sunday. The Brew Bus Terminal is also pet-friendly, features Taco Trivia Tuesdays, and future plans to launch a beer-pairing brunch, called “Toast” in partnership with Cigar City Brewpub in May.
Taps at the terminal include local seasonal drafts from various breweries, and Brew Bus Brewing’s signature, award-winning, and aptly named line of crafts including: Best Florida Beer Competition’s 2014 and 2015’s Bronze Medal winner: “Rollin Dirty” Irish Style Red Ale, Bronze Medal winner: “Last Stop India Pale Ale”, blueberry wheat ale “You’re My Boy, Blue”, awarded a Bronze Medal at the World Beer Championship, and Silver by Great American Beer Festival, considered the largest ticketed beer festival in the United States. Also on tap is the hoppy wheat “Are Wheat There Yet”, 2015 Silver Medal winner at the World Beer Championship, as well as “Double Decker”, an English style porter awarded a 2014 Gold Medal by Best Florida Beer Competition and a Bronze the same year at the US Open Beer Championship.
Like Brew Bus beer, Anthony wanted to stay local by using native artists to create a visually appealing space while putting money back into his community. “Rustic Steel Creations built the taps list above the bar as well as welded a car sized replica of our keg bus which will be a photo opportunity at the grand opening” said Alexis Pettinato, Community Relations Manager. We hired Built to design tables, high-tops, the front façade of the bar, and the storage barn door. LiveWork Studios made the concrete bar top, and muralist Ron Francis is responsible for the mural in front of the building.
The Brew Bus was founded in 2011 by Anthony Derby following his graduation from the University of Colorado at Boulder. His inspiration derived from his love for craft brews and the culture within the industry but he recognized an opportunity for safe and fun transportation to, from, and in between his favorite breweries. Derby is also heavily involved in local initiatives, and it was important to him to utilize local artists and talent when building out the new terminal in Seminole Heights.
