Two Roads Releasing 3 Sours @ Sourcopia 11/14

imageFrom Two Roads:

On Saturday, November 14th, Two Roads will be releasing three very special sour ales at the brewery at their annual Sourcopia event.

Doors will open at 10 a.m. with bottles going on sale at noon. Two lambic style beers and a berlinerweiss will be on sale. Patrons will be allowed to purchase a maximum of two of each style for a total of six bottles on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Inspired by classic Belgian interpretations, Two Roads Kriek is a wheat-based brew re-fermented with sour cherries. After brewing, the lambic is mixed with the cherries and transferred into oak barrels where it ages for nearly two years until just the right level of cherry-like “funkiness” is achieved. The bottles are 375 mL with a cork and cage finish. 600 bottles will be on sale for $10 each.

Also returning is Two Roads’ Berliner-style Weiss, “Krazy Pucker,” in 500 mL bottles. 600 bottles will be on sale for $10 each.

A Two Roads original creation they call “Hexotic” has been a work in progress at the brewery for over two years. The sour beer is made with six tropical fruits that include: Orange, passion fruit, mangosteen, gaunabana, guava & mango and aged in oak for 28 months. Hexotic is packaged in 375 mL cork and cage bottles. 600 bottles will be on sale for $10 each.

During Two Roads’ Sourcopia celebration on November 14th, all three of these specialties will be on draft at the brewery’s tasting room (limited supply available). There will be local food trucks on site throughout the day (details to follow), and Brewmaster Phil Markowski will be leading a discussion on sour beers that afternoon in the Event Room starting at 1 p.m.
