Over the course of 42+ Friday BeerBuzz shows, we’ve sampled a record four Troegs Brewery beers. From our very first show when we sampled Hopback Amber, to our Scratch # 29 Special and our Mad Elf Holiday Spectacular, we’ve all really enjoyed the brews from our local Harrisburg brewery. Today we were very excited to not only sample Nugget Nectar (one of my all-time favorite beers), but also to have Chris Trogner on the show to sample it with us.
Chris is one of two brothers, that founded Troegs and brewed their beers, so he had some really great info on the past, present and even the future of Troegs Brewery. Chris was nice enough to not only fill us in on the details of Nugget Nectar, but also chat to us about the new Troegs Hershey facility, the future of the Paxton St facility, and some upcoming Scratch & Splinter brews. Stay tuned for Scratch # 41 (chocolate stout similar to #27) coming out TODAY and Scratch #42 (an abbey ale w/Chocolate nibs) coming soon! A great guest and a great beer!…who could want any more.
Nugget Nectar is a rare and wonderful seasonal brew, so get out there and try some before it’s all gone.
Thanks
to Chris, John, Nancy, Joe, Deuane & Bosco for yet another fun Friday.
The Friday Beerbuzz…bringing good beers and good people together.

All I can say is Wow! I'm a regular listener and text club member, and I couldn't believe when the text arrived that you were having Chris Trogner on the show! Chris was a great guest and I love Nugget Nectar. I've actually been sitting here since the show ended at 9 waiting for you to post so I could be the first to comment. Finally after hitting refresh over and over you posted. I'm amazed at what you guys are doing. Phil Leinhart, Steve Mashington, Briak Boak and now Chris Trogner! I'm literally frightened to know who's next.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for bringing the local craft beer lovers the best beers, the best guests and the best local beer news.
Ryan W
Psyched to have Chris Trogner on the show and taste my first Troeg's Nugget Nectar. I remain eternally grateful. lol
ReplyDeleteSeriously love hops and though Nugget Nectar is about a 93 IBU, it's not a hop bite from the high end range that you'd expect and I now know why people wait with such anticipation for this Troeg's seasonal to roll out in January.
Thanks Chris, thanks Bill!

You keep busting out these amazing guests but today wa sthe best. Chris Trogner is an incredible brewer and one-half of the driving force behind what I consider one of the best breweries (period) and the absolute best in the mid-atlantic region. It helped that you busted out their best beer (Nugget). You guys rock!
ReplyDeleteNugget + Chris = Amazing
ReplyDeleteI can't think of anything else to day.
JJ
We have one of the last cases of Nugget that came into NEPA. I almost crapped my pants when you featured Nugget and had Chros Trogner on the air. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteSteve (Moosic)
Best show ever!
ReplyDeleteYou guys consistently feature the best beers available in our area. Nugget is amazing and i's one of the few beers I buy by the case. On it's own that's amazing. Then we get to hear from one of the brothers and you have now made my life complete.
ReplyDeleteAmy
I agree with the other commentors. I'm frightened to see how you top this show.
ReplyDeleteMartin (Trucksville)
In the words lf Elmo....Wowy wow wow wow!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great guest and beer!
Aaron
While I do read your blog every day, I never comment. Today I'm compelled to say thank you. I love just about everything Troegs brews and this is the first I've ever heard directly from one of the brewers. Thank you for bringing us Chris Trogner and for highlighting one of the best beers ever!
ReplyDeleteTom
I agree. Best guest and beer ever!
ReplyDeleteTroegs is the most innovative brewery going. Tons of fun to hear you guys sample Nugget Nectar with Chris today.
ReplyDeleteLarry Newport
Thanks everyone. We couldn't agree more. Nugget Nectar is one of my all-time favorite brews and having Chris Trogner on the air with us to sample it was a lot of fun. My thanks again to Chris!

ReplyDeleteAJ
You my friends are kings of beer, only to be outdone by Chris Trogner who is a GOD of beer!
ReplyDeleteJim
I now really love the hoppy beers and today's beer feature is one of the best. Nugget nectar is nincredible and I wish we could buy it year round. and thanks for getting Troegs to be on the radio with you.
ReplyDeleteI've seen the Hershey brewery already and it's amazing. I commend WILK for getting Chris on the air and for promoting a great beer show. I look forward to it every week now.
ReplyDeleteBob (Allentown)
Your beers and guests get better every week. Craft beer is growing in a big way and you guys are responsible for that. Cheers
ReplyDeleteDave
I live a mile from Paxtron St and I'll really miss it being so close, but I'm happy to see the brothers growing and being so successful. It was fun to hear Chris on the radio and of course I love Nugget. I will visit Hershey guys!
ReplyDeleteSean
Thanks again everyone. We love craft beer and we love bringing some of our favorites to all of you. We also get a tremendous kick out of talking to some of our rock-star brewmasters so thank you for tuning in and going along for the ride with us. And yes I promise we'll get Chris on again sometime in the future.
ReplyDeleteYo buzzers! That was by far your best show. Thank to John for coming in on a sick day to help keep the beer flowing and thanks to Chris for calling in.
ReplyDeleteBryan
You profiled my favorite beer and brewmaster today. My life is complete and I'm not even kidding.
ReplyDeleteChris Plains, PA
I vote to make Nugget a year round beer.
ReplyDeleteMe too, excpet I'd buy way too much.
ReplyDeleteJJ
Thank you for featuring Troegs and for getting Chris on the radio. I love the show and I love your blog. You manage to give us all of the beer news I want without all of the rating and slamming of beer. I hate to see people arguing over beer or giving a beer a score and you don't ever do that. Thank for keeing beer positive and fun like it should be.
ReplyDeleteLarry
Thanks everyone and thanks Larry. Beers are for drinking and not reviewing. I couldn't agree more.
ReplyDeleteSo Webster miraculously gets better just in time fo rthe beerbuzz? hmmmm??
ReplyDeleteI say this with on exageration and in all honesty. That was my absolute favorite friday buzz show, and I've heard them all. Nugget is an amazing beer and I can't believe it hasn't been on the radio before. It was a huge bonus to get to hear Chris Troegner too. Thank you WILK!

That was great doing Nugget nectar. I know it's hard to get but I managed a six pack that I plan to have this weekend. You made it sound so good I may have it tonight.
ReplyDeleteRJ
What, no Troegs in Wilkes-Barre?

ReplyDeleteIf you mean the beer, yes...lots of it to be had, although Nugget is pretty scarce. If you mean the brewery opening in WB, then we may have to keep wishing....but I'm right there with you!
Nice show fellas. What a great beer too.
ReplyDeleteNugget! Don't mind if I do!
ReplyDeleteYou mentioned the five breweries in the area on the radio, can you list them here? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIf you scroll down the page you'll find all five w/details....but Purple Healer, Yorkholo, Marleys, Turkey Hill Brewing and Susquehanna Brewing Co
ReplyDeletemybeerbuzz and the friday beerbuzz are fantastic resources for beer lovers. I'm really impressed at what you're doing. You're in NEPA but competing (and beating) most of the national and Philly beer bloggers. Congrats Bill.
ReplyDeleteGreat show and I'd agree with the last comment. I read your blog every day and as much as I like some of the others, I only hit them once or twice a month. Keep it up mybeerbuzz.
ReplyDeleteI loved Scratch #27 so I can't wait to try #41. Thanks for breaking the news today.
ReplyDelete5 New Breweries in 2 days. Thanks for keeping us up to date.
