Saint Arnold - Art Car IPA Coming 8/6

National IPA Day seems like the perfect time to release our newest beer, Art Car IPA, a very hoppy American IPA featuring a blend of both new and old hop varieties from the Pacific Northwest. We love this beer.

The nose is a blend of apricot and tropical fruit and mango. The taste starts with a big bitter blood orange that morphs into mangos and sweet tropical fruits. There is a lightly sweet malt body that allows the hops to shine while there being a nice complexity to the flavors.

The Art Car IPA name was inspired by the fleet of hand painted Art Cars created by local artists for Saint Arnold. You've probably seen our salespeople driving them around town. The label artwork was designed by renowned Houston graffiti artist and our good friend, GONZO247, who has painted four Saint Arnold Art Cars. If you've been to the brewery, you've seen his murals on the inside and outside of our building.

You can enjoy Art Car IPA on tap around town beginning Thursday. In October, Art Car IPA will be released in cans.

HOUSTON, August 6, 2015 – Saint Arnold Brewing Co. (www.saintarnold.com), the oldest craft brewery in Texas, is celebrating National IPA Day by giving Houston beer fans a sneak peak at Saint Arnold Art Car IPA, the brewery's new American IPA. Starting today, Art Car IPA will be available on tap in pubs and restaurants throughout Houston. In the coming weeks, Art Car IPA will begin appearing on tap in other select Texas markets, with cans coming later this year.

Saint Arnold Art Car IPA joins Saint Arnold Elissa IPA and Saint Arnold Endeavour – a double IPA – as year-round IPAs. It turns up the hops, featuring a blend of new and old hop varieties from the Pacific Northwest.

"Art Car IPA is a great complement to our current IPAs, with more fruit and citrus in the nose and a lighter malt backbone that allows the hops to really shine," said Saint Arnold Founder/Brewer Brock Wagner. "But this is not a one dimensional IPA – there is a nice complexity to the flavors. The taste starts with a big bitter blood orange that morphs into mangos and sweet tropical fruits."

Art Car IPA's name celebrates Saint Arnold's fleet of hand-painted art cars created by local artists. In fact, three of the brewery's art cars tied for first place for Best Commercial Entry in the 2015 Houston Art Car Parade, the oldest and longest art car parade in the world.
