From BrewDog:
To our American friends, this coming Saturday is one of the most notable dates in the diary (after Thanksgiving and Super Bowl Sunday). When the calendar clacks around to the 4th of July, it is cause for a celebration as Americans toast their founding fathers by commemorating and partying in equal measure. Central to this; those pillars of Stateside life – beer, whiskey, soul-food and music. Well this Saturday, on this Independence Day, we are joining in!
That is when the doors officially open to our new all-American craft beer, whiskey and underground gaming bar – Two-Bit. Located in the basement of BrewDog Shoreditch, we have renovated UnderDog and brought it to life with a selection of retro coin-op and arcade games. Whether it’s a challenge of skill or simply a chance to relieve frustrations, Two-Bit is now the place to get your button-mashing fix.
Those who descend into Two-Bit will find fully playable pinball machines: Metallica, Getaway, Rolling Stones, Pirates of the Caribbean and Dirty Harry. Also ready to light up – classic arcades including the original blockbuster, Space Invaders. Aside from the visual treats, the full BrewDog Shoreditch food menu will be available in its new downstairs joint, along with daily specials; and if you really can’t tear yourself away from the joystick frenzy – exclusive Billy Frank’s jerky.
In keeping with the theme of Americana, Two-Bit will be majoring in the freshest US craft beer that we can get our hands on. With designated taps for different beer styles, we’ll be rotating through amazing draught imports from the likes of Victory, Ska Brewing, Firestone Walker Brewing, Almanac and Half Moon Bay Brewing Co. So, for instance, whilst the dedicated barrel-aged tap might feature Oskar Blues sherry barrel-aged G’Knight, the amber/brown tap would be pouring Odell’s Runoff Red.
So whilst many millions of people are celebrating on the 4th of July, we will be proudly opening a small slice of the very best aspects of American life, in an underground electronic playground off Bethnal Green Road. Two-Bit – your new home for that retro fix – opens this Saturday. Come down and live the dream!
