From Trumer:
Trumer Pils received the gold medal in the German Style Pilsner category and the Major Trophy for Best Pilsner at the 23rd Annual Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA) held at the Melbourne Showgrounds on May 21, 2015.
AIBA is not only the biggest of all beer competitions; it is also considered one of the most prestigious, due to its rigorous judging. A multi-national panel of 63 judges evaluates more than 1500 different entries from nearly 300 breweries representing the best of brewing around the world. Altogether there were 52 entrants in the German and Bohemian Pilsner Categories and Trumer Pils received the only gold medal awarded.
“This award is very gratifying,” said Lars Larson, brewmaster at the Trumer Brewery in Berkeley, California. “The Trumer brewing family is passionate about crafting the finest true-to-style pilsner in the world. It is a great honor for Trumer Pils to be recognized on an international stage of such caliber with this gold medal and major trophy distinction.”
The Trumer Brewery in Berkeley was established in 2004 as a sister to the centuries-old Trumer Brewery in Salzburg, Austria, to brew Trumer to the exacting standards of the pilsner style and offer it to U.S. consumers with the highest level of quality and freshness.
This is not Trumer’s first win down under. It’s been awarded the AIBA Gold twice before and is a leading imported craft beer in Australia. Over the years, Trumer Pils has been awarded multiple gold medals at the top international beer competitions, including the Great American Beer Festival, the World Beer Cup and The European Beer Star Awards.
