From Troegs:
The crisp October air is thick with the aroma of fresh, green hops! This year, we brewed not one, but TWO Fresh Hop Ales! The first (Scratch #161) was brewed with freshly-picked wet Cascade and Chinook hops from Black Locust Farm in Northern Baltimore County, MD. The second (Scratch #162, released today) was brewed with 450lbs. of wet whole flower Mosaic hops from the Yakima Valley in the Pacific Northwest. These über-fresh hops were harvested, packaged, and overnight delivered right to our brewery. To infuse the non-bittering essentials of these juicy whole flower hops, we added them directly to our hopback vessel as soon as they landed at the brewery. Check out pics from both Fresh Hop Ales this year!
