From Dry Dock Brewing:

Dry Dock Brewing Company is excited to release the 2014 edition of the Colorado Freedom Memorial Blonde Ale, just in time for Memorial Day. This American blonde ale was brewed to commemorate and support the Colorado Freedom Memorial, located in Aurora’s Springhill Community Park. A 12-foot tall, 95-foot wide glass monument to the sacrifice of nearly 6,000 Colorado veterans killed in action since 1876, the Colorado Freedom Memorial is a symbol of our nation’s strength, resilience, and perseverance.

Dry Dock Brewing worked closely with the Memorial founders in order to obtain approval to use the image of the American flag on the Colorado Freedom Memorial Blonde Ale label. The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) prohibits the use of the American flag on beer labels, unless permission is specifically granted by the United States federal government. With the help of the Colorado Freedom Memorial, Dry Dock successfully received approval of the use of the flag from the federal government and the TTB for this patriotic beer.

Colorado Freedom Memorial Blonde Ale will be available on tap at Dry Dock, as well as on tap and in 22-ounce bombers around the state while supplies last. The beer is 5.5% ABV with 18 IBUs. It’s slightly sweet with just a touch of bitterness, and a floral aroma from the addition of Challenger hops.

Dry Dock Brewing will donate one dollar from every bomber sold to the Colorado Freedom Memorial Fund. For more information or to make a donation to the Colorado Freedom Memorial Foundation, visit cfmf.net.
