From our pal Bill Moore at Lancaster Brewing & Gretz Beer:
Gretz Beer Company of Norristown, PA recently acquired the distribution rights to the highly regarded Lancaster Brewing brands for their core territory of Bucks, Montgomery and Delaware Counties. Pete Keares, owner of Lancaster Brewing, was full of praise for Gretz Beer Company and optimism about the future. “Gretz Beer has been a leader in craft sales in the Philadelphia area, and they are recognized nationally as one of the best in the business. We are thrilled for what this means for our business here at Lancaster Brewing, which we believe will be significant growth in distribution, and sales of our great Lancaster brands such as our award winning Milk Stout”!
Gretz Beer owner, Michael Gretz, was equally ecstatic about the future. “Our team here at Gretz takes great pride in our ability to grow Beer brands for our brewing partners. When Pete and head Brewer Bill Moore came to us to consider purchasing the brand rights from a competitive wholesaler, we were both honored that they would choose us, but also thrilled by the growth potential”. Gretz Beer services over 1,700 licensed accounts in the Philadelphia Suburban market.
Lancaster Brewing Company has been a significant craft brewer in the region since the 1990’s and has a complete line of craft beer offerings, including the highly rated Milk Stout, Hop Hog IPA, and Strawberry Wheat. The Lancaster Brewing Company has been a destination for not only their Brewery tours and tasting room, but also for their hugely popular restaurant at the brewery site on North Plum Street, in the heart of the City of Lancaster.
The Gretz Family has been in the beer business since the 1800’s, first as brewers, and since 1954 as wholesalers for the ‘Greatest Beers of the World’! They were recently recognized at the Great American Beer Festival as one of the best craft wholesalers in the United States.
