Founders Renames Red Rye Ale To Red Rye IPA

This has been a trend we’ve noticed over the last year to rename beers to include IPA in the naming.  Because of the popularity of the style, breweries like Ithaca have renamed their Caskazilla  as Caskazilla Red IPA…so it’s no surprise to see Founders rename their Red Rye Ale as Red Rye IPA.  One of the old labels is below and as you can see in the new label above, “IPA” and “India Pale Ale” are prominent.  This beer remains at 70 IBU and 6.6% ABV.
