Summit Brewing - State Fair IPA (Video)

It’s almost Labor Day, and that means it’s time for the Minnesota State Fair. To celebrate the excitement and electricity of the Great Minnesota Get-Together, Summit Brewing Company brewed a State Fair IPA using Minnesota ingredients that will only be available at the Summit booth in the International Bazaar..

State Fair IPA is a recipe created by brewer Jeff Williamson. This highly-hopped red-colored IPA features Magnum, Chinook, Amarillo and Centennial hops. It also highlights Minnesota ingredients including corn, wild rice from Minnestalgia Foods, raw wildflower honey from Bare Honey, and Cascade hops from Hippity Hops Farms. The beer is about 5.5% ABV with about 95 IBU. A beautiful honey taste mixed with a solid citrus IPA flavor. It has a thirst-quenching bitterness with just a hint of nuttiness.

We have a 1/2-barrel keg reserved for each day of the fair. The beer will be tapped at 1 p.m. each day and served until that keg is empty.
