Ninkasi - Radiant Ale, Summer Variety Packs & Maiden The Shade

imageFrom Ninkasi:

Ninkasi brewing invites all craft beer drinkers alike to celebrate lazy days ahead with returning summer seasonals. Drawing inspiration from favored warm-weather experiences, Radiant Ale and Maiden the Shade truly capture the best part of summer in the Northwest. Crisp and immensely flavorful, they invite any craft beer drinker to pause and take in all that summer has to offer.

“Our summer beers reflect the playful part of life,” explains Jamie Floyd, founding brewer and co-owner of Ninkasi Brewing Company. “From barbeques in the park, floating down the river, enjoying music festivals, and especially chilling on the front porch, these beers are adventurous while still characteristically balanced and easy to drink.”

Each beer will be available in 12 and 22-ounce bottles and on-draft June through September.

Description: Earthy and floral hops balance this Northwest-style pale ale, with a touch of Crystal and Vienna malts for flavor. Crisp and flavorful, Radiant Ale is a clean-finishing summer offering in the Ninkasi tradition. The smooth malt character is balanced by an elegant hop bitterness, the perfect complement to a glorious summer day.

Tasting Notes: A touch of Crystal malt is used to sweeten-up this beer in addition to some Vienna malt for balance.
The multiple hop varieties are grassy and earthy in tone and differentiate Radiant from most of the citrus forward Northwest Pale Ales!

Description: In salute to the playful side of summer, we had fun with this beer! Maiden the Shade has a big, robust hop character from the liberal use of seven different hop varieties. It’s completed with a light-colored malt backbone to stay in balance. Kick back and enjoy!

Tasting Notes: This beer has been dubbed a summer IPA. Big powerful combinations of many different kinds of hops give a big hop profile. We added flaked barley to the beer to make for the smooth body and lighter summer-style IPA. Another Ninkasi cult favorite!
