Minnetonka’s only micro-brewery will be releasing two new package products into the market in early June. The two beers are recreations of recipes formerly in the Lucid lineup. They were retired for the winter season to introduce improvements in recipe and packaging.

“When we started Lucid, we were restricted to using 22Oz. “bomber” bottles. They served their purpose of establishing the brand, but are not the typical purchase for most consumers. We listened to our consumers, and are happy to announce that both beers were redesigned for 12 oz. bottles” said owner Jon Messier.

The redesign of the beer recipe included a change of yeast and hop profiles. The beers will be recognizable to fans of the 22Oz. versions and will be more inviting to newcomers.

Lucid SILO is a Belgian-styled Sasion. It is unfiltered and unpasteurized. The beer has a hazy orange hue due to the yeast which stays in suspension. The flavor and aroma are fruity and peppery with notes of citrus zest and cloves. The 5.5% ABV beer will be available in 6-packs and on draft during the summer.

Lucid DUO is 9% ABV double India Pale Ale. DUO is a recreation of Lucid’s wildly popular CAMMO. Brewed with a blend of Citra, Simcoe and Falconer’s Flight Hops, this beer has a pine, citrus and tropical fruit aroma and flavor. The body is light and refreshing with a clean finishing malt backbone. DUO will be available in 4-packs and on draft while supplies last.

Lucid Brewing began in the end of 2011 with co-owners Jon Messier and Eric Biermann as the only employees. In the last 18 months, the company has grown their staff to nine, expanded distribution into Rochester, Mankato, Brainerd, Alexandria, and Moorhead/Fargo markets. Lucid Brewing was recognized as the “Best New Brewery” by the Star Tribune.
