Shorts Goodnight Bodacious Double Black IPA Available Now

From Short’s Brewing:

We’re excited to announce the first-ever bottle release of Goodnight Bodacious (9% ABV, 136 IBU), a concept beer so strong and dark that it defies convention. This beer will hit store shelves during the first full week of February and it is already available at our pub.

Goodnight Bodacious rollicks back and forth between the maltiness of a barleywine and the hoppiness of an Imperial IPA. We call it a Double Black India Pale Ale because Double India Black Ale is not yet a recognized category of craft beer for labeling purposes. As you raise a glass, you’ll note that the color is of such unyielding blackness that it will block out even the brightest light of day. It’s also a beer with bite, thanks to our use of four different American hop varieties. Goodnight Bodacious lures you in with its rich, big body and a subtle, prowling bitterness that finally sends you to bed with a warming finish.

We like to honor the legends that inspire us, from our love for Ween, to the pristine waterways of Northern Michigan. So it’s fitting that Goodnight Bodacious should be named after one of the greatest riding bulls of all time. Known for his ferocious bucking move, Bodacious rocked the rodeo circuit with an undefeated record. Bodacious’ legend continued to grow after being immortalized in ballad by the band Primus. We believe the tenaciously tasty bitterness and underlying strength of Goodnight Bodacious make it worthy of the bull’s legend.

So, do you have what it takes to tame the bull? Or will you need to be tucked in for a winter’s nap? Either way, you won’t be disappointed!
