Beer distributor Stockertown Beverage has opened a second location north of Bethlehem to house its growing warehouse operation.
The business has agreed to lease 21,777 square feet at 310 Stoke Park Road in Hanover Township, Northampton County, according to a news release by real estate company Collier’s International, which brokered the deal.
Chris Hosbach, Stockertown Beverage director of operations, said the wholesale business has grown rapidly and required separation from the retail operation, which remains at 515 Main St. in Stockertown.
“Serving 26 counties, it got so big we couldn’t operate at this location,” Hosbach said. “Wholesale has grown dramatically in the last five years.”
The new location opened today, employing about six. By January, Hosbach said Stockertown Beverage hopes to add five more salespeople, a truck driver as well as other retail and wholesale staff.
Renovations are also planned for the Stockertown store in the coming weeks, Hosbach said. He said he expects the wholesale business to be in Hanover Township three to five years, after which the business will likely purchase its own property.
