News that Kid Rock’s Badass Beer was moving away from Michigan Brewing Co came last week so it’s no huge surprise to see the assets of Michigan Brewing Co will be auctioned to pay creditors. Details from Lansing State Journal:
On Wednesday, an auctioneer is scheduled to bring down the gavel on the sale of equipment used to brew the 17 varieties of craft beer that brought fame and fortune to Michigan Brewing Co., and founder Bobby Mason for the past 17 years.
Even MBC’s name and those of its iconic brands — Superior Stout, Peninsula Porter, Michigan Nut Brown Ale, Celis Grand Cru among them — will be on the auction block to satisfy a Detroit-area creditor.
Mason likely will be a spectator in the 76,000-square-foot building from which he was evicted in late April.
