Here’s a peek at G. Love @ New Belgium working on his co-brewed Front Porch Lounger Peach Ale! No word on whether this will be stand-alone or part of the Lips of Faith series.
From the Coloradoan:
The beer will be part of the brewery's Lips of Faith series and will tentatively be called Front Porch Peach Lounger after a song on his 2004 album "The Hustle" called "Front Porch Lounger."
"After sampling many beers by many brewers and considering what the sound of my music might taste like, we have decided to brew 'G. Love's Front Porch Lounger Peach Ale.' The brew will contain ingredients that sing the blues, the Jersey Peaches, molasses, grits and biscuit malt," Dutton said in an email. "We will brew with brettanomyces yeast, and the beer will be bottled in a 22 oz. bottle, have a 9.4 alcohol content and feature a beautiful hand-drawn label.
"I couldn't be more pleased about getting to know the great team at New Belgium and having this wonderful opportunity to bring your new favorite beer to your front porch just in time for the dog days of summer."
This isn't the first time New Belgium has collaborated with a musician. In October, the brewery released a Lips of Faith beer called Clutch after the Maryland rock band that helped make the beer.
That partnership started when the band was traveling from Omaha, Neb., to Salt Lake City and was scheduled to stop in Cheyenne, Wyo., for a night. A fan of New Belgium, lead singer and guitarist of the band Neil Fallon opted to make a detour to Fort Collins, where a chance encounter with New Belgium brewer Eric Salazar at the Pickle Barrel led to the beer.
