San Diego's Karl Strauss & Pizza Port Re-Release Nectaron of the Gods IPA Collaboration

From Karl Strauss:

SAN DIEGO, CA Karl Strauss Brewing Company and Pizza Port Brewing Company, two legends of the San Diego brewing scene, today re-release their fan-favorite collaboration Nectaron of the Gods IPA. The tropical West Coast IPA returns as part of KARL’s 2025 Ridiculously Limited Release Series with part of the proceeds benefiting Restaurants Care, a nonprofit fund that supports California restaurant workers facing unexpected hardships.  zzubreebym

With a 6.8% ABV, Nectaron of the Gods bursts with notes of passion fruit, grapefruit, peach, and pineapple, thanks to a bold hop blend of Nectaron and Elani. A golden pour, medium body, and crisp, citrusy finish make this a quintessential San Diego-style IPA. The beer, which was first released in 2023, is available on draft and in four packs of 16-oz cans across California, Arizona, and Nevada, as well as at all nine Karl Strauss brewpubs in Southern California and six Pizza Port brewpubs in San Diego County. Consumers can use the Karl Strauss Beer Finder to find Nectaron of the Gods.

One dollar from every pint sold on release day today will be donated to Restaurants Care, along with one percent of all California sales during the beer’s entire run. The initiative is part of Karl Strauss’ broader 2025 commitment to support the nonprofit through each beer in the Ridiculously Limited Release Series.

“Pizza Port is a pillar of the San Diego brewing community, and we feel fortunate to be longtime friends and collaborators,” said Karl Strauss Brewmaster Paul Segura. “Brewing with their team is about more than just beer—it’s about camaraderie, and that’s why this partnership with Restaurants Care feels so meaningful. We get to support the people who make this industry what it is—our teammates, our partners, our peers.”

“We’re thrilled to bring this beer back,” said Pizza Port Director of Brewing Sean Farrell. “It’s a delicious reminder of what happens when two classic breweries come together, and it feels great to tie it to a cause that supports the people behind the scenes of every pint poured.”

Pizza Port Brewing Company and Karl Strauss Brewing Company have a combined 17 brewpubs in Southern California and employ hundreds of food-and-beverage team members.

The beer will also be featured May 31 – June 1 at Fiesta Del Sol in Solana Beach, where Karl Strauss and Pizza Port are the exclusive beer partners of the 44th annual celebration of music, art, and local culture.

Nectaron of the Gods marks the second of KARL’s Ridiculously Limited Releases in 2025, to be followed by Squawk Box, a collaboration with Green Cheek Beer Co., and Peanut Butter Cup Porter.

About Pizza Port Brewing Company

Pizza Port Brewing Company began in March 1987 when siblings Gina and Vince Marsaglia bought a struggling pizza joint in Solana Beach, just north of San Diego. What started as a cozy beachside pizzeria soon evolved into a pioneering brewpub when Vince began experimenting with homebrewing in the back storage area. By 1992, Pizza Port was proudly serving its first house-brewed beers—quickly becoming a staple in the emerging San Diego craft beer scene. Today, Pizza Port has seven locations—six throughout San Diego County and one in Orange County—each offering its own lineup of handcrafted beers brewed onsite, alongside the same beloved pizza that started it all. The brand has earned over 90 Great American Beer Festival medals, and continues to push the boundaries of brewing with a focus on creativity, community, and quality. “Good food and good beer bring good cheer.”
