Pouring into Fall: October Brewers Association Newsletter

From The Brewers Association:

Whether you’re reaching for a rich Oktoberfest lager or a pumpkin-spiced ale, fall is the perfect time to raise a glass to the craft we all love. With the Great American Beer Festival behind us and more events on tap, we’re excited to bring you the latest updates from the Brewers Association. Enjoy!

  • Bob’s Musings – A tidbit of insight from CEO and president of the Brewers Association, Bob Pease.
  • “With my last Great American Beer Festival as President & CEO of the Brewers Association in the rearview, I wanted to share a well-deserved congratulations to all of the winners of this year's competition, and gratitude to all of the breweries that brought their best to the festival floor this year. It was a highlight to welcome Senator Hickenlooper, Representative DeGette, and Representative Lamborn to GABF and celebrate our industry alongside them. Additionally, thank you to all of the Brewers Association staff and dedicated festival volunteers for making this year’s GABF unforgettable for everyone. We are witnessing undeniable momentum coming out of this year's event. As the industry continues to turn its focus to ever-evolving consumer preferences (non-alcoholic beverages, ciders, seltzers, RTDs, and more), it's evident that brewer creativity and craft beverage innovations will continue to drive the industry forward. With GABF behind us, we now look forward to 2025 with World Beer Cup 2025 registration opening November 12.”
  • Election Season – Now through November 13, it’s time to vote for the BA's Board of Directors! Let your voice be heard in shaping the future of our industry.
  • World Beer Cup – With GABF fresh in our minds, we’re rolling right into World Beer Cup season. From November 12 to December 13, registration is open for breweries eager to take a shot at those coveted gold medals. Don’t miss your chance to throw your hat (or pint glass!) into the ring.
  • Self-Distribution – An Iowa court decision could pave the way for greater self-distribution by suppliers. Crack open a cold one and catch up on this potential game-changer for the industry.
  • Craft Cider – Fall means apples, and apples mean cider! For the first time, the GABF Competition celebrated cider by awarding medals in five categories. From dry to sweet, cider lovers had plenty to toast to this year. Check out a full breakdown of the cider scene from our economist Matt Gacioch.
  • Emergency Prep – After hurricanes devastated parts of the southeast this October, the BA has assembled a playlist of resources to help businesses prepare for emergencies.
  • Member News: Our members are doing some cool things. Here are some recent gems from October:
  • Anderson Valley Brewing Company Releases Barrel Aged Series Just In Time for The Pre-Christmas Christmas Season
  • Zupan’s Markets Partners with Gigantic Brewing for the Latest “Farm-to-Market” Beer Release
