From Flora Brewing:
Due to unforeseen circumstances, I will be changing the name of my company Flora Brewing. To provide further clarity, during our week-long celebration of beer releases that we had meticulously planned for the past few years, we received a cease and desist from another brewery regarding the use of the Flora Brewing name. Since I launched Flora Brewing in 2017, I have been using my last name “Flora” to represent my business as a creator who develops educational content for homebrewing. I’ve built a brand and my own pathway into the beer industry through my passion for the craft and the hope of inspiring others to get into brewing while providing tips to fellow homebrewers. All of the work, money, and time invested in building my own business and goals of going commercial have now been compromised. Here we are, six years later, and I am finally pursuing my dream of releasing my own Flora Brewing beers commercially. Although I should feel excited and proud to achieve this dream, I feel deflated. As I discuss with my colleague Ash about the next steps, we are grateful for any support right now as we rebrand, find resources to cover legal fees, and try to find ways to cover a lot of expenses including materials, marketing collateral, label designs, merch, and so on. If you’re able to donate, we have a gofundme: https://www.gofundme.com/f/florabrewing
BTW did you know less than three percent of breweries are solely owned by women? Let’s change that! I appreciate any help in spreading the word and continuing to make the Brewery Formerly Known as Flora Brewing a reality! And no, that’s not the new name.
Thank you for the support
