Anheuser-Busch Delivered More Than 250,000 Cans of Emergency Drinking Water to Support Hurricane Beryl Relief Efforts in Houston

July 22, 2024 – At the request of the American Red Cross, Anheuser-Busch delivered five truckloads – more than 250,000 cans – of emergency drinking water to support residents in southeast Texas who were impacted by Hurricane Beryl.

Hurricane Beryl struck the southeastern part of Texas earlier this month and damaged property, flooded the area and left millions without power. The donation of emergency drinking water will supply residents and first responders with safe, clean drinking water to aid ongoing storm recovery efforts.

The donation of emergency drinking water was delivered to Anheuser-Busch's wholesaler partner, Silver Eagle Distributors Houston LLC in Pasadena, TX, which is working alongside the American Red Cross to distribute the resources to community members and organizations.

“The American Red Cross is deeply grateful to Anheuser-Busch and Silver Eagle Beverages for their generous donation and delivery of safe drinking water following the damage left from Hurricane Beryl,” said Lauren Ulrich, Executive Director of Operations Management and Logistics for the American Red Cross. “We appreciate their ongoing support of our mission and feel fortunate to count them as a partner.”

The water is sourced from the Anheuser-Busch brewery in Ft. Collins, Colorado, which alongside the Cartersville, Georgia brewery periodically pauses beer production throughout the year to can emergency drinking water and help communities in times of disaster in partnership with the American Red Cross.

Anheuser-Busch has a longstanding tradition of providing support for disaster relief efforts in partnership with the American Red Cross, dating back to 1906. Since the inception of the emergency drinking water program in 1988, Anheuser-Busch and its wholesaler partners have donated more than 93 million cans of emergency drinking water to communities and volunteer fire departments across 49 states in support of ongoing relief and preparedness efforts.
