Anheuser-Busch Delivered More Than 50,000 Cans of Emergency Drinking Water to East Texas to Support Flood Relief Efforts

May 13, 2024 – At the request of the American Red Cross, Anheuser-Busch delivered one truckload – more than 50,000 cans – of emergency drinking water to residents in East Texas to provide support for the ongoing severe weather and flooding that has affected several counties in the state and is expected to continue.

Earlier this month, the Texas government issued a disaster declaration for several areas in East Texas impacted by storms and flooding that continues to affect homes, businesses, and the agriculture industry throughout the state. The brewer has provided Texas residents with a supply of emergency drinking water to support those impacted by recent severe weather events and to prepare those who are at risk for anticipated storm threats.

The donation of emergency drinking water was delivered to Anheuser-Busch wholesaler partner, Silver Eagle Distributors Houston in Pasadena, TX, who is working alongside the American Red Cross to distribute the resources to community members and organizations.

“The American Red Cross is deeply grateful to Anheuser-Busch and Silver Eagle Distributors Houston for their generous donation and delivery of drinking water following this string of severe weather events in East Texas,” said Lauren Ulrich, Executive Director of Operations Management and Logistics for the American Red Cross. “We appreciate their ongoing support of our mission and feel fortunate to count them as a partner.”

The water is sourced from the Anheuser-Busch brewery in Ft. Collins, Colorado, which alongside the Cartersville, Georgia brewery periodically pauses beer production throughout the year to can emergency drinking water and help communities in times of disaster in partnership with the American Red Cross.

Anheuser-Busch has a longstanding tradition of providing support for disaster relief efforts in partnership with the American Red Cross, dating back to 1906. Since the inception of the emergency drinking water program in 1988, Anheuser-Busch and its wholesaler partners have donated more than 93 million cans of emergency drinking water to communities and volunteer fire departments across 49 states in support of ongoing relief and preparedness efforts.
