If you live at a lake like I do, then you’ll already understand the importance of water shoes. Whether you’re jet skiing, boating or even kayaking, a good set of shoes that are designed to be wet is more than just a convenience….BUT…with winter weather still hanging around in the northeast, I’ve now found a new reason to love water shoes.

This is where the Rocky Boots NOWAKE Fully Drainable Shoes come in…and if you’re wondering what the new reason is then let me just say “stream crossing.” If you hike enough in the northeast, then you’ll know that in late winter and early spring, stream crossings are a reality. The Rocky Boots NOWAKE water shoes were a perfect addition to my pack and they allowed me to slip on the NOWAKE for stream crossings and easily slip them off and put my dry hiking boots back on after I crossed.

If that wasn’t fun enough, I also took the Rocky Boots NOWAKE Fully Drainable Shoes to a water park birthday party and they also worked great in and around the pool and water obstacles.

I should mention up front that the Rocky Boots NOWAKE Fully Drainable Shoes look great. No one will think you’re wearing a water shoe until you walk into the water. The NOWAKE look like a sneaker or trail runner and the self-draining panels aren’t obvious…and I love the fact that the uppers are made with recycled fishing nets.

The Rocky Boots NOWAKE Fully Drainable Shoes have a quick bungee lace system that allows you to pull them on and off easily, even when they are wet. Once on, the NOWAKE feel comfortable and more importantly, they feel secure and sturdy. The neoprene liner makes the NOWAKE feel snug and comfortable and the shoes actively work to pump water out with each step. I also found it really convenient that the NOWAKE have pull tabs on the front and rear of the foot opening making them easy on and easy off wet or dry.

The NOWAKE feature:

  • 3 Inches in height
  • Recycled Fishing Net Upper Mesh
  • Non-Marking, Slip Resisting Outsole with Drainable Rebound EVA Midsole
  • Integrated Neoprene Sock Construction
  • Perforated Drainable Footbed
  • Locking Bungee Cord Laces with Toggle Closure
  • High Abrasion Rubber Toe

The Rocky Boots NOWAKE Fully Drainable Shoes weigh just under 1-pound per shoe and the gray and blue color scheme on my shoes looked great (they do come in two other colors). I was also surprised to find just how quickly the NOWAKE shoes dry. Even in colder weather, my shoes dried quickly and almost completely.

As winter breaks here in the northeast, and I get a chance to test-drive the NOWAKE on the beach or in a kayak, I’ll update this post; but I have no doubt they’ll do really well in both situations.

The Rocky Boots NOWAKE Fully Drainable Shoes are a really good pair of water shoes and a perfect companion for a hiking trip or walk on the beach. I’m also confident they’ll be the perfect shoe for a canoe trips, kayaking, fishing and even for wake boarding. The shoes are comfortable, durable and they have such great grip on wet surfaces that they inspire confidence in each wet step. Overall I’d say the NOWAKE shoes have a really useful collection of features and whether you’re crossing a stream or walking on the beach, I’m sure you’ll love them.

The Rocky Boots NOWAKE Fully Drainable Shoes are available now, so get out there and try them for yourself…and when you do try them, be sure to let us know what YOU thinkzzubreebym
