Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights The XTRATUF 6” ADB Ice Rubber Boots (Review)

As I sat in my office last night, I couldn’t help but stare at the outside thermometer and the fact that it was reading 7F. Add in the fresh coating of 10-inches of snow and the constant 20 MPH winds and I started wondering how exactly I was going to get out to the mailbox to check the mail.

Of course you can wear a heavy jacket, wool hat, heavy gloves and even warm pants, but there’s something missing in my wardrobe to make the mailbox trek easier…..waterproof warm boots! With that said, I’m excited to say that I now have the perfect (awful) conditions to test out the new boots that just arrived at mybeerbuzz headquarters from XTRATUF.

Today we’ll be test driving the XTRATUF 6” ADB Ice Rubber Boots and I’m excited to see how they’ll do in these awful conditions just outside my door.

If you’re not familiar with the ADB Ice, here are some details courtesy of XTRATUF:

The ADB ICE was designed to work on wet ice while simultaneously being able to transition to other wet surfaces. This new boot features Glacier Trek Pro, our proprietary ice gripping compound paired with an SRC rated slip-resistant rubber. The ADB ICE has a lightweight rubber upper that is 100% waterproof and includes a faux shearling lining for quick drying comfort and warmth.

  • Faux shearling lining
  • 100% Waterproof
  • SRC Rated Slip-Resistant Outsole
  • EVA insole
  • GlacierTrek Pro outsole

As much as I’d rather sit inside by the fire, I’m too excited to get out and play in the snow with the new boots….so off we go.

The XTRATUF ADB Ice is a 6-inch high boot so right out of the box it is a great height and easy to put on and take off with pull loops on the front and back of the boot. This made it convenient to run out to the mailbox on a snowy day or just put it on quickly to wash the car. Mine were size 11 which fit perfectly on my US Mens 10.5 feet with warm socks.

The faux shearling lining is not only warm but also really soft and comfortable against your feet. The ADB Ice boots are lightweight and with the EVA insole they just feet good on your feet. I worked with mine outside in the single-digit temps and my feet felt warm and comfortable even after a few hours shoveling snow.

The XTRATUF ADB Ice boots are 100% waterproof and I can confirm that not a drop of wet snow or water made it inside these boots. My feet not only stayed warm but also completely dry after walking through wet snow and slush.

Don’t let the light weight of these boots fool you, they look and feel really durable with a reinforced toe box and a wrap over tread on the heels. I’ll update this post as I test the boots for a longer term, however I have no doubt they will be durable over the long run.

Perhaps my favorite feature on the ADB Ice boots is the GlacierTrek Pro outsole. This tread pattern outsole is SRC-rated slip resistant and I can confirm that it really works well. It’s hard to describe the tread pattern or why it work, but it does work. I walked on snow, slush, wet snow, ice, wet ice and even my slippery-when-wet garage floor and in every case the ADB Ice boots were secure and confidence-inspiring. The tread pattern has the normal black grippy lugs, but they also feature six blue GlacierTrek Pro patches that add to the grippy nature of the outsole (see photos).

The XTRATUF 6” ADB Ice Rubber Boots worked much better than I expected on wet ice and like all XTRATUF boots, they are comfortable, secure and good looking. The only down side I found with these boots so far is that they were so comfy and warm, I didn’t want to take them off when I came inside. Overall the XTRATUF 6” ADB Ice Rubber Boots are a new winter favorite with their 100% waterproof outers and the really grippy outsoles.

Be sure to try the XTRATUF 6” ADB Ice Rubber Boots for yourself, and when you DO try them (and you DO love them) be sure to let us know what YOU thinkzzubreebym
