I brought you a peek back in Oct 2023, and now this from Elysian:
To mark the 3000th batch produced at its Airport Way location, the brewing team held an open contest, requesting something special to honor the moment. The team let their imaginations run wild, and the result was so sweet that it had to be shared with the world. zzubreebym
The winning creation, dubbed Batch 3000 (12.8% ABV), is an imperial stout inspired by the decadent dessert of Bananas Foster. Crafted with turbinado sugar, banana puree, and cinnamon, it was then aged for a year in Barbados rum barrels before finishing on vanilla beans. Life is short – drink dessert first.
This limited release is available at Elysian’s Capitol Hill location and in 4-pack 16oz cans at select locations throughout Washington while supplies last.
“Batch 3000 is more than just a great beer. It’s a celebration of the creative and eccentric spirit that has defined Elysian Brewing since it first opened its doors in 1996,” said Chris Murakami, Brewmaster. “From the unique creation process to the trophy-like gold on the label, Batch 3000 is a badge of honor that showcases our team’s creativity and dedication to craft brewing.”
If it wasn’t already clear, the Elysian team isn’t afraid to experiment. This isn’t the first time that they've opened up the floor to allow employees the chance to create its next great beer. Each year, they are also invited to submit the best fall beer ideas ahead of the Great Pumpkin Beer Festival, with many being produced in small batches for attendees to enjoy.
Batch 3000 also represents a milestone for the Airport Way location. After first opening in 2011, the release marks a significant leap for the brewery in terms of production. Fast forward to 2023, and the location now boasts over 60,000 square feet of beautiful beer production, including a 60-Barrel Brewhouse, as well as a Taproom for consumers to try some of the newest creations.
All hits no misses.
