From Narragansett:

Iconic Craft Brewer Continues Significant Growth and Expansion Throughout Q1   zzubreebym

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (April 19, 2023) – Iconic New England brewer Narragansett Beer is building upon last year’s success and celebrating continued growth through the first quarter of 2023. As it continues to expand its evolving portfolio of innovative craft brews, Narragansett is seeing the most significant growth result from fan-favorite products like the celebrated original lager, highlighting a steady consumer interest in and demand for premium craft styles crafted with heritage and tradition in mind.

Narragansett is thrilled to report a Q1 depletion growth of +8%, an acceleration from Q4 2022 with growth of +6%. This growth was led again by their flagship lager at +11% with lager draft clocking in at +22% and lager 12-packs at +22%. Following lager growth was ‘Gansett’s ultra-refreshing Fresh Catch Citra blonde ale at +14% and Del’s Shandy with rate of sale at +5%.

Growth was once again driven across a wide geography, with this quarter led by key markets of Massachusetts, New York, Indiana, Tennessee, Florida, and Washington, D.C., a promising sign that neighbors across the country are all in on ‘Gansett.

“It’s exciting to see this relentless growth so early into 2023, especially after such a great end to last year,” said Mark Hellendrung, President of Narragansett Beer. “We’ve got some great things in store for 2023 and are excited to continue to crush it with our team, distributor partners, and retailers. Here’s to continued success all year long!”

Adding to its development, this month Narragansett Beer celebrated the two-year anniversary of its waterfront brewery and taproom in Providence, Rhode Island. Head Brewer Lee Lord and the brew team continue to create a wide array of innovative craft beers ranging from the popular Musik Express IPA to Bohemian Pilsner, served traditionally from a Lukr tap, inspiring guests to explore a variety of brews served in classic ways.

As the 27th top brewery in the United States, according to the Brewers Association, Narragansett Beer is excited to say “Hi-Neighbor!” to old and new fans alike while remaining passionate about beer through new craft innovations and upholding traditional fan-favorites.
