ABOUT THE BEER
19.0% ABV
This rare liquid is in commemoration of the 2000th brew at our Flatiron Park brewery, thus named Batch 2000. As is tradition, we concocted a massive beer using Leopold Bros. Floor-Malted Pale Malt supplemented with molasses-laden dark muscovado sugar from the island nation of Mauritius. After fermentation was complete, the beer was racked into one-of-a-kind Leopold Bros. Three Chamber Rye Whiskey barrels to age for 16 months. This long residency in unique barrels has produced a beer with immense depth and flavor.
Batch 2000 pours a deep brown color with ruby highlights and robust legs that cling to the glass. It is bottled without carbonation for optimal perception of all of its complexities. Aromas of Bourbon vanilla bean, Bing cherries, candied plums, and a touch of almond are followed by a palate of brown sugar, dried figs, cola, and light apricot. A full body and luxurious sweetness complement the high alcohol content and provide a lasting finish. We recommend allowing Batch 2000 to breathe at room temperature for half an hour for full expression of aroma and flavor.
