Harrisburg, PA (October 6, 2022) -- Visit Hershey & Harrisburg (VHH) today launched Harvest & Hops, a Brew Barons Beer Trail seasonal mobile app promotion. The Brew Barons Beer Trail is a year-round interactive mobile experience designed to draw visitors to more than 30 participating craft breweries and tasting locations in the Hershey Harrisburg Region. Brew Barons seasonal app promotions like Harvest & Hops are add-on experiences that offer extended opportunities to engage with the craft breweries plus limited-edition prizes.
Taps will be open on the Harvest & Hops promotion between October 6 and November 30. Guests who use the mobile app to check in at 10 participating breweries during that time will earn a limited-edition Brew Barons waffle knit beanie. Guests can also continue to check in on the original Brew Barons app to earn tiered prizes.
“Seasonal trail promotions allow us to re-engage craft beer enthusiasts who are already using the Brew Barons app and also offer an opportunity for us to reach new consumers in our efforts to support the local craft breweries through tourism,” said VHH President & CEO Mary Smith. “Beer tourism is a strong economic driver, and the variety of breweries within a short distance of the Capital City and Hershey, PA make our region attractive for craft beer enthusiasts looking for their next tour experience,” Smith continued.
The Brew Barons Beer Trail and its seasonal mobile promotions (Leprechauns & Lagers launched in Spring 2022) help to drive economic impact not just to the local breweries, but to businesses across Dauphin County.
Beer tourists typically travel in a party of 4, stay for at least one overnight, and spend an average of $252.38 per person per trip, including $35.17 per person per trip on beer sales (Bowers, Economic Impact of Beer Tourism in Kent County (2019)).

To participate, guests will download the free Brew Barons Beer Trail mobile app and sign in as a new user. The Harvest & Hops icon will appear on the app’s home screen throughout the promotion.
