Wicked Weed Brewing Joins How2Recycle® Labeling Program

From Wicked Weed & Anheuser-Busch:

ASHEVILLE, NC , March 18, 2022 — In honor of World Recycling Day on March 18th, Wicked Weed Brewing is implementing the How2Recycle® labeling program as the first craft brewery to participate in the program's consumer-friendly recyclability labeling system.

How2Recycle, a project of the Sustainable Packaging Coalition, is a standardized labeling system adopted by over 400 brands and retailers that clearly communicates recycling instructions to consumers.

“Wicked Weed is committed to transparency and improving the recyclability of our products. By using How2Recycle’s review process and standardized labels, we are able to communicate our efforts and ensure we are using packaging that is recyclable,” said Andrew Dagnan, Director of Safety and Sustainability and Wicked Weed Brewing. “Providing consumers with information to ensure proper recycling will help reduce contamination in recycling facilities - improving the recyclability of all materials, not just those from Wicked Weed.”

The How2Recycle label will be rolled out across Wicked Weed’s portfolio of brands – beginning with Dr. Dank Daily Haze, a sessionable IPA launching later this spring.

By adding this label to its packaging, Wicked Weed is proud to join other leading companies in helping empower consumers to recycle more and recycle better by bringing increased awareness to the program and improving the recyclability of its products.

Wicked Weed is a member of the Brewers Collective, the craft business unit of Anheuser-Busch. Anheuser-Busch joined the How2Recycle program in 2021 and has committed to rolling out the How2Recycle label across its family of brands and having its packaging made from majority recycled content or returnable by the year 2025.
