Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Bell’s Brewery Wheat Series Rind Over Matter (Review)

We’re in the heart of summer right now in the northeast, and one of my favorite summer beer styles has always been wheat beers. With that in mind, I was excited back in March to get a peek at not only a new beer but a new series of wheat beers coming from Bell’s Brewery in Comstock, MI. The series is simply called the Wheat Series, and this beer has a really cool name….and of course now I’m even more excited to actually get my hands one at mybeerbuzz headquarters (Thank you Bell’s).

Today I’ll be sampling Bell’s Wheat Series Rind Over Matter, and if you haven’t seen the beer yet, it will be joining Oberon and Bright White along with several new beers coming to this series in the future. This beer will of course be a wheat ale, and it will be brewed with real orange zest and lemon zest.

Thankfully today is Friday and it’s a hot and humid Friday; or what I would call a perfect day to drink a cold wheat ale on the decks…so off we go.Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Bell’s Brewery Wheat Series Rind Over Matter (Review)

Bell’s Brewery Wheat Series Rind Over Matter

ABV:  5%
Style:  Wheat Ale
Packaging:  12oz cans
Appearance:  Bright golden
Aroma:   Citrus, lemon and sweet orange
Mouthfeel:   Light
Taste:   Prominent orange zest, fresh citrus and lemon
Overall: The story here is all about fresh citrus flavors, but don’t let that fool you into thinking the traditional flavors of a good wheat beer are lost in the mix…as they are not. Rind Over Matter has lots of traditional wheat ale flavors and the citrus zest brightens and complements the base beer in a really nice way. Overall this is a really drinkable and enjoyable wheat beer and I can’t wait to see what’s next in the Wheat Series.

Bell’s Wheat Series Rind Over Matter is available now in 12oz cans so get out there and try it for yourself. And when you do try it, be sure to let us know what YOU think.

  1. I just purchased a 6 pack and am highly disappointed. Comes over very much like Lemon Pledge. I love citrus and wheat beers, so I am very let down by this one unfortunately
