Braxton Announces Dark Charge Day Details

From Braxton:

Before we get to the celebrations, we wanted to answer a few questions you may have about Dark Charge Day 2020!

What is Dark Charge Day? Is it a bottle release or an event?

It’s both! Dark Charge Day celebrates Braxton’s biggest bottle release and our friends in the craft beer community. While this year has been drastically different than past Dark Charge celebrations, we have continued to feel your excitement and enthusiasm about this year’s lineup. The last few weeks we have released our 2020 variants online, (no lines, yay!) but we are determined to provide the Dark Charge on-tap experience we all know and love tomorrow, December 5th.

What time is Dark Charge Day and where?

  • Braxton Brewing Company Cincinnati will be open from 11 am to 10pm for bottle pick up and day of festivities. All 8 variants will be on draft and we will be operating under the Ohio Governor’s orders which allows for the indoor celebration of Dark Charge.
  • Covington IGLOOBAR on the rooftop and the outdoor patio will also be one from 11 am-10 pm for bottle pick up and will have all 8 variants on Draft to enjoy in the taproom. Our Covington Patio will extend seating into the front parking lot with heaters. IGLOOBAR will be open to the general public, first come first serve as reservations are not required for the day of!
  • Braxton Labs and Barrel house are currently CLOSED.

What is the process for picking up pre-ordered Dark Charge bottles?

Bottle pickup will begin in the Cincinnati and Covington Taprooms starting at 11am – once in the taproom, you will be directed to the bottle pick-up table, where you will give a Braxton representative your name, order number and a photo ID. If you plan on enjoying the day at one of our taprooms, you have the option of going directly to Bottle Pickup and holding on to your bottles OR you can pick them up as you are leaving.

What are the Covid rules and regulations in your taprooms?

Please head to the Covid dedicated FAQ page linked here to read an extensive list of Covid protocols we have developed for all taprooms that will also apply to Dark Charge Day, Saturday, December 5th.

A proxy is going to pick up bottles for me, what do they need to bring?

Please have your proxy bring a photo ID and your order numbers upon arrival. You can find your order number in the confirmation email sent to you after you purchased your Dark Charge variants.

Are bottles available to purchase on Dark Charge Day?

Yes, but there will be a limited number!

Where do I park for Dark Charge Day?

Like all of our events, we recommend using a designated driver to ensure you get to and from the event safely. If you are driving, please reference the map below for the best parking options for our Covington taproom. For our Cincinnati location, there is metered parking directly across from and behind the taproom. Street parking on Broadway may also be available.

Do you need a reservation for IGLOOBAR?

No, unlike a typical weekend, we are not requiring reservations for Dark Charge Day. IGLOOBAR will be open for walk-in service, first come first serve but we will maintain the 2-hour limit. Yelp Waitlist will not be available, however, our hosts will have a waitlist notification system that you are welcome to check-in at.

Is the event inside the Taproom or outside on the street?

Short answer – yes! IGLOOBAR will be open all day for walk-in service. No reservations are required for Saturday’s event. Our Covington Patio will also extend seating into the front parking lot with heaters!

Will there be live music?

Just like always, Dark Charge Day is going to be rocking! Our Cincinnati location will be the hub for the celebration, wiith Tracy Walker performing from 1p-3p and Jess & The Factory from 6-9p! Our Covington location will not have live music, but the bartenders are pretty great DJ’s if we do say so ourselves.

Will growler fills be available during Dark Charge Day?

You will not be able to get a growler or crowler fills of any of the beers on tap at Dark Charge Day.

What about tasters and flights?

We will not be doing flights to ensure that the service is safe, efficient and effective. However, there is a special Dark Charge Taster glass this year. For only $30, you receive a 2020 Dark Charge commemorative mini Teku glass, Dark Charge Breakfast Box pairing pastries from North South and four 6oz pour tickets! Additionally, you can enjoy a delicious pairing of Dark Charge Papas Opera Cream Stout with Papas Opera Cream Candy!

Are there drink options for non-beer drinkers?

Yes, there are plenty of options! For starters, we will be serving all 8 refreshing flavors of VIVE Hard Seltzer all day long. In terms of non-alcoholic options, we have a full lineup of soda in the taproom.

Are dogs allowed?

As much as we love our four-legged friends, they are not allowed in the taproom at this time.

We can’t wait to lift one to life with you this weekend at Dark Charge Day! If you still have questions about day-of festivities or bottle pick-up, reach out to our team via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or email social@braxtonbrewing.com and we’ll do our best to help you out!
