Fat Head's Releases Collaborative Wet-Hopped Beer For SNOBs

Fat Head's Releases Collaborative Wet-Hopped Beer For SNOBsFrom Fat Heads:

MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, OH September 23, 2020 -- Fat Head’s Brewery and its Head Brewmaster Matt Cole are proud and long-time partners of the Society of Northeast Ohio Brewers, or as they are more commonly and affectionately known, SNOBS. One of Ohio’s longest-standing home brewing clubs, SNOBS is dedicated to promoting recreational brewing and enjoying well-crafted beers. Not only is the club marking its 30th anniversary in 2020, but it is also celebrating its recognition by the American Homebrewing Association as “Homebrew Club of the Year.” With Fat Head’s Brewery so often serving as a second home for the club – most notably for the annual “Son of Brewzilla” homebrew competition – it seemed only fitting to collaborate on a brew to acknowledge both well-earned honors.

Brewed to capitalize perfectly on hop-harvest season, “SNOBS 30th Anniversary Wet Hopped IPA” is a 7.5% ABV “wet-hopped” or “fresh-hopped” IPA with tropical notes of passion fruit, pineapple and melon up front, and dank, woody resinous notes behind. There is a balanced sweetness, a coalescing of Citra, Mosaic and Simcoe hops, and a slightly aggressive finish.  Dry-hopped with Centennial sourced from Coleman Agriculture, a family-owned Oregon farm, the brew will debut at all Fat Head’s locations on Thursday, September 24 both on draft and at the Beer Hall’s gift shop in 4pk cans. It will release to Northeast Ohio retailers as well in 4pk cans, starting on September 28.

Jay O’Neill, President of SNOBS, was especially appreciative several members from SNOBS were able to join the Fat Head’s brewing and cellaring crew to brew the beer together. “After thirty continuous years and the efforts of many,” said O’Neill, “our club is truly an established and well-respected fixture in Cleveland’s beer community. This 30th anniversary beer validates the work we’ve been doing to educate aspiring brewers and in promoting beer appreciation in the Cleveland area. We are extremely grateful for Matt Cole and Fat Head’s Brewery for all they do for our club and supporting the homebrew community.”

Club member Blake Beharry offered, “Being invited to be a part of brewing this celebratory throwback beer was such an exciting experience, and one that I will never forget. I look forward to drinking the fruits of our labor with my fellow SNOB members and my friends, who I brag to regularly about our entire wonderful experience with Fat Head’s.”
