From East End:
Hi. Scott here.
I've been talking with John over at Boxcar Brewing Co. about an idea we’ve been hatching to help out some of the smallest beer makers in our area and in our state.
Operating during Covid is obviously challenging for all of us, but it seems that smaller breweries in the state - those who don't have the means of packaging their beer beyond Growlers, have been taking a real beating lately.
As licensed beer makers, we can all sell beer from other PA breweries, but only for on-premise consumption, nothing packaged to go… UNLESS of course, it's a collaboration beer with all of the collaborating breweries listed on the label.
So here’s what we’re doing:
We’ll brew a collaboration beer here at East End Brewing, that we will package in 16oz cans under the name Pennsylvania Loophole.
Given Covid restrictions, the collaboration itself will be more in spirit than in person, happening virtually.
The style will be something hazy and hop-forward, in the ipa/dipa realm, so that everyone has something popular to sell.
Any PA brewery that’s interested in collaborating on this brew can sign on, as long as they can commit to purchasing some cases at wholesale to sell at their brewery - at retail. To me this seems like a nice "middle path" arrangement, as I think it provides everyone who is participating with some benefit.
If you’re a beer drinker who wants to support this project, please plan on picking up some of this beer from you participating small brewer when it’s ready for release!!!
If you‘re from a brewery who is interested in collaborating on this project and we don’t have you on this confirmed list below, contact us at info@eastendbrewing.com We will get you pricing
info too.
We’ll update the list as this collaboration develops, and of course as the beer is ready for release at all of the breweries. PLEASE STAY TUNED!!!
