Allagash Hosts Virtual Roundtable with Russian River and Brasserie Cantillon on May 7

Allagash Hosts Virtual Roundtable with Russian River and Brasserie Cantillon on May 7From Allagash:

WHAT:                  Join Allagash Brewing Company for a virtual happy hour covering all things spontaneously fermented beer with guests from award-winning Russian River Brewing and world-renowned Brasserie Cantillon. Prior to the COVID-19 outbreak, Allagash had planned to join Russian River for an event at Cantillon this week to release the second version of the Wild Friendship Blend, a blend of spontaneously fermented beer from each brewery.  The first version was released in 2014.

With travel on hold, Allagash decided to bring the celebration online to keep the spirIt of collaboration and community alive during this unprecedented time. “While we couldn’t head to Belgium to launch the Wild Friendship Blend, we wanted to do the next best thing,” said Jason Perkins, Allagash Brewmaster. “We’re excited to still celebrate spontaneously fermented beers and are looking forward to bringing together this cadre of brewing talent during this digital happy hour and round table event.”

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Rob Tod, Founder, and Jason Perkins, Brewmaster, Allagash Brewing Company
  • Natalie and Vinnie Cilurzo, Co-Founders, Russian River Brewing
  • Jean Van Roy, Owner and Brewmaster, Brasserie Cantillon

Both partner breweries have extensive experience making them experts of spontaneously fermented beer. Russian River broke ground in the beer world by brewing award-winning IPAs like Pliny the Elder and wild Belgian-inspired ales. Meanwhile, Jean Van Roy is the fourth-generation brewmaster behind one of the most respected brewers of Lambic beer in the world.

Need to stock up ahead of the celebration? If you’re in the Portland area, Allagash is now offering beer delivery to your home along with touchless curbside pickup at the brewery through Allagash on the Fly. Allagash recommends the Coolship three-pack for the occasion which includes Coolship la Mûre, Coolship Clermont, and a *brand new Coolship beer* Coolship Proxima. Don’t live nearby? Plenty of beer stores now offer pick-up and delivery options. Check out the Allagash store locator to see if your local store is offering delivery.
