It’s time for Side Project to celebrate the Maplewood Coffee Crawl! Join us at either The Side Project Cellar or our Brewery Tasting Room on Saturday, March 21st! Both locations will be tapping a delicious Side Project Maple Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout + that base beer blended with different coffee beans from five local St. Louis roasters! It’s always fun for people to decide which coffee bean works best with the beer and to pick your favorite beer! Here’s the tapping schedule:

  • AT OPEN: Side Project Ellipses : Barrels 231 & 232 (Tapping at 12pm at Brewery, 1pm at Cellar)

The Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout which we selected for the 2020 Coffee Crawl was 2 barrels of our Imperial Stout recipe named Ellipses (…) which aged for 25 months in BLiS Maple Bourbon Barrels. We wanted to experiment with the subtle notes of maple syrup still present in the beer and see how we could integrate them into one of our huge Imperial Stout recipes. 15% ABV

  • 1pm at both locations: SP Ellipses : Barrels 231 & 232 - La Cosecha Guatemala Pacamara

  • 1pm at both locations: SP Ellipses : Barrels 231 & 232 - Coma Costa Rica TarrazĂº (Coma Coffee Roasters is new to our Coffee Crawl beer line up this year!)

  • 2pm at both locations: SP Ellipses : Barrels 231 & 232 - Blueprint Colombia Aristides Guarnizo

  • 3pm at both locations: SP Ellipses : Barrels 231 & 232 - Kaldi's Brazil Serra do Cabral

  • 4pm at both locations: SP Ellipses : Barrels 231 & 232 - Sump Ethiopian Aricha

We are gathering the specific tasting notes for each coffee bean so you'll be able to compare the beers with information about each coffee bean!

We’ll see you Saturday, March 21st. You do NOT need Coffee Crawl tickets to visit The Side Project Cellar or Brewery Tasting Room. You can purchase each stout separately. Please note both the Brewery Tasting Room (Open 12-7pm) and The Side Project Cellar (Open 1-11pm) are open regular business hours this Saturday.

Thank you!
