Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Terrapin High & Hazy (Review)

Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Terrapin High & Hazy (Review)If you enjoy a good hazy IPA and if you enjoy that style of beer year-round, I have some good news for you.  Terrapin will not only be adding a new hazy beer, but that beer will be going year-round.  The beer is called High & Hazy IPA and it is shipping now (beginning 3/10) through Terrapin’s distribution footprint.

High & Hazy IPA uses four different “citrus-forward” hops as well as wheat and flaked oats; and to maximize what Terrapin is calling the “laid-back bitterness,” the hops are added at the very last minute.  If that’s not enough fun, Terrapin is dry-hopping the beer with Citra, Idaho 7 and Simcoe hops.

Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Terrapin High & Hazy (Review)

High & Hazy IPA was originally called Three Up, Three Down at the ATL Brew Lab in Atlanta, GA and it was in fact their best selling beer while it was on draft.  Of course I’m really curious and excited to try it…so off we go.

Terrapin Beer High & Hazy IPA (5.8%-AbV, 12oz cans)

Appearance: Bright amber/gold
Aroma:  Mango, citrus, jammy
Mouthfeel:  Soft with low carbonation
Taste:  Orange, citrus, grapefruit, passion fruit, mild bitterness but moderate hoppy finish
Overall:  Terrapin High & Hazy IPA is a really drinkable juice-forward, hop-forward IPA with a really refreshing and approachable soft mouthfeel as well as a sessionable lower AbV making it infinitely drinkable.Terrapin Refreshing RecreationAle 16oz Cans

As a bonus, Terrapin sent along the latest 16oz packaging for RecreationAle:

Terrapin Beer RecreationAle LoCal IPA(4.2%-AbV, 16oz cans, 99 Calories, 3.9g carbs)

Appearance: Bright and clear gold
Aroma:  Citrus, floral, mango, lemon
Mouthfeel:  Medium body, well carbonated
Taste:  Grapefruit, dry and resinous hops, bready malt & lightly floral.
Overall:  Terrapin RecreationAle leans toward the pale ale side of the IPA fence, with a nice balance of resinous and citrus hops and a drinkability that matches it’s low-calorie and sessionability perfectly.

Terrapin High & Hazy IPA is available now in 12oz canned six-packs and it will go year-round in 2020…so get out there and “Kiss The Sky” when you try it for yourself.  And when you do try High & Hazy IPA, be sure to let us know what YOU think.
