From Shiner:
There is a turf war going on in the Texas craft beer world. Anheuser Busch, the publicly traded multinational owners of Karbach, have made a major investment in TX and look to be going after our hometown / home state brew, Shiner. They have blanketed the town in billboards not discreetly saying there is a "new Bock in town".
Aggressive move from a beer giant like giant Anheuser-Busch. They are a Goliath trying to capitalize on a small-town independently-brewed beer with over 110 years of history in Shiner. Every last drop of Shiner Bock is made in Shiner, TX, unlike Karbach which is made in multiple facilities across the state. And the folks at the Spoetzl brewery have rebutted by crafting open letter to the people of Shiner in this week's Shiner Gazette, hitting newsstands on Thursday 11/7.
