From Samuel Adams:
When I started brewing Samuel Adams 35 years ago, Doyle’s Café was the first to put our beer on tap. When we went public on Wall Street in 1995, we returned “home” to Doyle’s for a celebratory dinner. Over the years, hundreds of our coworkers have shared beers, stories, interviews and fun over a great meal at Doyle’s. Our Boston Brewery has shared experimental beers with Doyle’s for customer feedback and sent thousands of visitors up the street to the restaurant after a tour by way of trolley.
As soon as we heard the news, Boston Beer coworkers gathered over a beer to discuss how we could honor this institution appropriately. We’ve been in touch with our friends at Doyle’s, including Gerry Burke, and know that times change, tastes evolve, and neighborhoods turn over. We hope to recognize Doyle’s in a way that is as memorable as the start they gave to Sam Adams.
