Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Monday Night Brewing Lundi IPA (Review)

Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Monday Night Brewing Lundi IPAMost people don’t get too excited when you say the word “Monday.”  First day of the work week, the weekend is still miles away…and even when you add the word “night” to the mix, most people would still say that at least Monday “day” is over, but it’s still Monday.  BUT….when you add the 3rd word “Brewing” to the mix, I know I get excited and after you try this beer for yourself, I think you will too.
Of course I’m talking about Monday Night Brewing, and when one of their new cans arrives at mybeerbuzz headquarters, I can’t help but get excited.  Today we’ll be sampling the latest beer to go year-round from Monday Night, and I’m happy to say it will be an IPA.  The beer is named Lundi IPA and according to Monday Night, they got into a “fun funky and French vibe” during the development of this beer and Lundi is French for “Monday.”  The beer is literally the result of months of test batches and hop experiments and I can’t wait to open the can…so off we go.Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Monday Night Brewing Lundi IPA
Lundi IPA pours a bright crystal gold color with just a touch of haze in the appearance.  The aromas lead with grapefruit, orange and a touch of lemon and the mouthfeel is soft and appealing thanks to the oats on board.  If I were choosing one word to describe the taste of Lundi, it would be “balanced.”  This beer not only locks in the balance of sweet to bitter hops, but it even seems to lock in the balance of resinous piney hops with grapefruity citrus hops.
According to Monday Night, the beer squeezes in all the tangerine and grapefruit characteristics of Mosaic, Simcoe, and El Dorado hops, but with less of the bitterness commonly associated with bold IPAs”…and I’d have to agree.  Just when you think the beer is leaning at all into too-bitter territory, the wheat malt steps in to even it all out.  Overall Lundi IPA is a really drinkable and satisfying IPA and I can see why this beer makes perfect sense to go year-round.Monday Night Brewing Introduces Lundi IPA
Lundi IPA is available now in 12oz cans and on draft within Monday Night Brewing’s distribution footprint…so get out there and try this one for yourself.  And when you do, be sure to let us know what YOU think.
